Prior to joining CURIE in 2021 and assuming the CEO role, Patrick had spent several years leading national practices and risk advisory for some of the largest insurance brokerages in Canada. He is a seasoned leader with 29 years of experience in property and casualty insurance, specialty underwriting, and alternative risk solutions. In addition to other senior executive leadership roles he held previously in Canada and the United States, Patrick also served as the President and CEO of Zurich Canada from 2012-2017.

Michael is an experienced financial professional having worked on numerous large and mid-sized engagements globally within Insurance practice of Deloitte and EY. During the last few years Michael has been leading teams on IFRS 17 implementation projects and he is well versed in regulatory reporting and compliance requirements of insurance companies in Canada and globally. Having spent more than 10 years in the insurance and asset management practice, he has Association of Chartered Certified Accountants designation and Certification in General Insurance. He has an engineering background and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

Lynn Turnbull, CIP, LLB joins CURIE in October 2023 as the new in-house general counsel. She received her Bachelor of Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1994 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996. Lynn’s career includes 25 years at an insurance defence boutique, expanding her practice of defending claims involving complex motor and recreational vehicle accidents, occupiers’ liability, product liability, medical malpractice, professional negligence as well as transportation and property losses. Prior to Lynn completing her LLB degree, she spent nine years in the insurance industry and obtained her CIP. Lynn  was the Consulting Editor for the 2022 version of the Consolidated Ontario Insurance Statutes and Regulations as well as the 2023 version, which was released in January 2024.

James joined the CURIE team in May 2012. He has extensive technical knowledge and holds a Canadian Risk Management (CRM) Designation.

Jillian joined CURIE in 2014 with over 18 years in the insurance sector, with various prior positions held in property and casualty insurance. She holds a Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation and Advanced Chartered Insurance Professional (ACIP) designation. Jillian is currently working towards her Fellowship CIP designation.

Piotr Luszczyk joined CURIE in February 2023 as the Director of Underwriting & Insurance Products/Services Development. A graduate from George Brown College, who has his CIP, CRM and RIBO designations. He has been working in the insurance industry for the last 15 years.

After joining CURIE in 2021, Michael brings over 20 years of industry experience. His thorough approach to his work, combined with his genuine interactions with members makes for strong partnerships and client relations. Michael has worked in insurance and has had exposure to a variety of experiences in the industry. Michael graduated from Mohawk College and has his CIP, CRM and CFEI designations. 

Karien brings more than 24 years of experience, having served as an Executive Administrative Assistant, Information Management Advisor, Office Administrator within various federal government departments in South Africa and more recent accomplishments serving as Secretary to the Board of Directors within a not-for-profit organization in Montreal. 

Lynsey has been working in the insurance industry for over 15 years in a series of claims roles, with FM Global and CNA, with a brief break in claims as a Client Executive with Marsh. Prior to joining CURIE, she held the position as a Senior PM, Disaster Recoveries and Investigations with Amazon. Lynsey has an Honours Applied Science Degree from Queen’s University with a focus in mechanical engineering. She is also a licensed insurance agent and is working towards her CIP designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada.

Natalie joined CURIE in 2022 bringing with her 26 years in the insurance industry. Natalie’s reputation is built on her broad administrative and diverse insurance background. With her experience in complex insurance claims, adjusting strategies, and her customer-service-focused approach, Natalie understands the lifecycle of insurance. She holds a CIP designation.

After joining CURIE in 2022, Leila brings over 10 years of industry expertise in communications, design and marketing strategy. She has worked on and created award-winning, successful marketing campaigns and content writing for newspaper media, ecommerce and real estate development. Leila is a graduate of Mohawk College’s Graphic Design Production program (2013) and holds a certification in Project Management Fundamentals from the University of Waterloo.

Kenrick (Ken), brings over 20 years of claims industry experience to his role as a Senior Claims Examiner with CURIE. He has worked in insurance, within various disciplines, and has had exposure to a variety of experiences in the industry.

Brent Lough has an educational background from Sheridan College for Business Administration and York University where he continued his studies. Brent comes to CURIE after working in insurance as a claims adjuster.

Alex has a finance background and is a graduate from the University of Guelph with major in Management Economics and Finance. He has worked on a number of roles during his career including banking, and his most recent is with a haulage company as an accountant. Alex is currently in the process of completing his CPA.

Jessica has over 10 years of experience in finance and accounting and worked as an accountant/financial analyst with various companies. Jessica holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and CPA designation.

Mark joined CURIE in 2024, bringing over a decade of experience in the insurance sector, with a strong focus on loss control. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Engineering from the University of Toronto and is actively pursuing his professional engineering designation.

Srikanth Marri has over 10 years of experience in the Canadian insurance industry and joins CURIE in 2025 as an Intermediate Claims Examiner. His experience boasts exposure handling adjusting complex liability, property damage, and environmental claims. Srikanth also has a broad understanding of litigation processes and experience working with external counsel and experts. He has earned his MBA in marketing and supply chain management and is currently pursing his CIP certification.

After moving to Canada in 2017, Marsela successfully finished her Paralegal studies at Sheridan College in 2022. She joins CURIE with experience in Civil Litigation and Tax Law Litigation as a law clerk. Marsela provides support in legal procedure and client advocacy.

Shalisa (Shelley) Khan joined CURIE in 2025. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006 after graduating from the University of Ottawa’s common law program.  She is an experienced civil litigator with a strong focus on practical, strategic advocacy. She also led litigation teams at two of Canada’s largest P&C insurers.

Shelley is deeply committed to guiding clients through their disputes with confidence and care. She takes pride in providing thoughtful, solutions-focused advice that helps clients move forward efficiently and effectively balancing strong advocacy with a genuine dedication to achieving meaningful, lasting resolutions.
